Down the Rabbit hole
With all the wonder, spectacle and more,
falling down a rabbit hole has never been tough.
But as the trench got deeper, it grew quieter, and with it Alice less astounded.
She groped and clawed the air for the slightest sign of support, and at that moment she realized that darkness had her surroundings, clouded.
She landed in a land that was positively vague. She was given many keys to pave her way.
She simply sat, taking it all in. Oh, what an array of choices! But in that decision lay an underlying vacuum, stifling her like a hot summer day in May.
Alice, dear Alice! Whatever will you do? Maybe follow the dodo, the lizard, and also the dancing troop?
Wake up, dear Alice! For you’re no conformist. Remember, for you, things just get “curiouser and curiouser”, so don’t fall into that hypnotic loop.
What a mad world she’d fallen into! With weird-shaped twins, timekeeping rabbits, talking Cheshire cats, a judgemental caterpillar, madder than mad hatters, and a dreadful queen of hearts who despite the name, went for the head.
Such perilous times, and so many to satisfy. Alice chose to grow tall at will, and shrink right back down, unlike the others who didn’t want to try anything. Alice simply wanted to get ahead.
Instructions, instructions everywhere around! But not one would help get her home.
But for Alice, this is not impossible! She sometimes believed in as many as six impossible things before breakfast.
As positive as she stayed, the darkness wouldn’t lose. It crept in on her, snuffing out her light, it’s an onslaught, steadfast.
And no matter how tall she grew or how short she shrunk, the madness around, got to her and drove Alice distraught.
The Cheshire Cat confused, the mad hatter mumbled, the queen of hearts was quizzical and the smoking caterpillar cussed. Alice gave up and started to cry. And it all felt for naught.
The mad hatter, her only trusted friend whispered to Alice “you’ve lost your muchness. You were much more muchier”. And this made Alice wonder.
Too tempted to follow the rabbit, she fell into his hole, into a world of darkness, oh what a blunder!
And in that darkness, while madness ruled, Alice thought about what the Cheshire Cat once said. “We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad. You should be, or you wouldn’t have come here.” There was the silver lining that shone brightly.
Alice now embraced the madness, and it showed her in a new light.
She gained back her stride, her smile, and her muchness. For this deep dark trench and all its madness has become her wonderland.
She was once again Alice, she stood tall and shone bright, there was no looking back to that life that was so bland.
Lo! Behold! She woke up with a start, the caterpillar had now turned into a butterfly, with wings that would never bring it back down.
There was a pain in her heart, for her dear mad hatter, the Cheshire Cat, and the others had all stayed in wonderland, and it was all just a dream! She sighed with a frown.
Chin up dear Alice, as dreadful was that dream, you’ve gotten your muchness and the dawn will bring new Hope.
You’ve embraced your madness, your muchness and you, there’s no kind of darkness with which you cannot cope.
The hatter, the cat, the rabbit, and the others will all stay with you in your head where your wonderland is.
There’s no looking back, run dear Alice! The world is now yours. Never stop, don’t look back and shine your light which is the rarest kind, and all will be well, I promise you this.
